Description

We start the video showing operations on the Santa Cruz Northern model railroad of Jim Providenza with a Western Pacific in motion. Two F units and a Falco C-425 will do the work. F3 Number 803-A picks up a PFE refer, a boxcar, and a Southern Pacific Bulkhead Flat. Then it is on to Zayante Creek and Damsite Junction. The east end of Sergeants is the summit of the railroad. We pass by Portland Cement and into Tunnel Number 3 to Doughertys.

This eastbound drag has worked the lumber company. An Alco S-2 shoves two boxcars, two bulkhead lumber flats, and a chipwood gondola to the main. The cement train with Southern Pacific power stops and a Western Pacific 803-A pulls in for its meet with the cement train in front of the Orchard Supply Hardware. Now the line is clear for the Southern Pacific units to come in. An Santa Cruz Northern helper keeps the tonnage rolling. Finally the main is clear for the Western Pacific units. At East Rica, Western Pacific 803-A pulls by the petroleum and Amtrak station. Then it is on to the Southern Pacific Crossing. At West San Jose, the F-3 Alco C-428 and F-7 pass the Carbolic Smokeball Company and then the Analytical Engine Company.

Then it is on to Mac Street Yard. An NW-2 will pull a cut from the eastbound drag. The switcher pulls out a block of six cars for Stockton. At Western Pacific Junction F-3 moves through the interlocking at LB Tower. Edwards Manufacturing and US Cold Storage are on the outskirts of San Jose. The eastbound train heads towards staging at Stockton. To see all the operations, view the full video.
