Dc or Dcc for door size, 2 min line & switching yard. Is worth cost difference? saving for Dcc as a one time setup. Im scenery guy, want the trains running smooth, track laying not my skills at all.

I have an n scale layout and on the outer track run two DCC locomotives powered by the E-Z command--I am a hands-off person meaning that I like to set the controls and watch. What would be my least expensive upgrade to be able to set the average speed of each one to the same thing so that I don't have to continually adjust the speed of one or the other.

Is it realistic to consider an N Scale layout of 2' x 7'? My main concern is how narrow the width is. Can I maintain an appropriate turning radius in turns throughout th layout. I am also considering a second level (Mountain level) but again not sure if that such a small layout area allows for a secondary level primarily in a rear corner? THANKS!
