Craftsman Kit Building 101: Start to Finish - Week 3
Follow along as Model Railroad Academy contributor Ron Marsh builds a small wood craftsman structure kit from start to finish. Throughout the series, Ron demonstrates multiple kit building techniques that can be applied to similar wood kits. In this episode, Ron begins to assemble the kit. He installs the window and door casting, adds acetate for window glazing and installs interior braces to some of the walls in preparation for final assembly.

When I first learned about building bass wood kits, I was taught to give the parts a light dusting of primer paint. Not enough to be soaked in, but the light dusting will keep the wood from absorbing the heavier paint that will be applied later.
