I’m working in o guage, mostly MTH engines with DCS, and I want to weather some of the old steam engines. I’m pretty good with an airbrush, but I don’t want to take these engines totally apart. That said; pastels seem like an easier route to take, i.e., less deconstruction and, maybe, less procedure time. However, I am concerned that pastels can clog mechanisms and interfere with the various electronics in the engines. Has anyone had any bad experiences with pastels? I may have asked a similar question in the past, but at this time I’m being more specific and I’m anxious to move along with these projects. Thank you in advance for any thoughts you may have on this subject.
I really enjoy your lively and informative Q and A.
Best regards, Lou
